Chapter 17
Sometime later, when they come up for air, Liz was back on the job.
“How about you present a moving target for this curse?” Liz said thinking out loud. ”You could come over to my place for dinner tomorrow night.”
“That sounds grand.” Greg smiled over at her liking where this is going. “But first,” he has to get out the question that has been plaguing him since he first saw Liz. “Do you live with your parents?” he asked almost guilty for thinking it in the first place.
“Uh?” Liz looked dumbfounded. “I live alone, I don’t even have a pet,” she informed him.
“Oh good.” His eyes light up at the thought of just the two of them. Greg couldn’t wait.
“Where did that question come from?” she asked puzzled by it.
“I have this image of you being the dutiful daughter.” Greg smiled at the image. “You work so hard at being a….”
“Oh please don’t say that,” Liz interrupts him she shoved him away from her.
“Now why do you do that?” Greg started to get angry with her. He is confounded by her attitude. “You will not let anyone complement you. You scoff at the thought that you are smart. And I think you dance like the most beautiful woman in the world.”
“But, I am not…” she started to say but never finished as she thought about his last words. “Really, you think my dancing is good?” she is all smiles as she looked up at him, her face aglow with the thought he found her beautiful.
“Yeah,” He was still having trouble believing she didn’t know she is the most amazing woman ever. “I wonder if you are not cursed too,” he added as an afterthought.
“I’m not cursed, I just don’t seem to have any luck,” she replied back, scrunching of face into a ungainly frown.
“What do you mean by that?” Greg’s curiosity is peaked. He leans in and gives her hug.
“Oh nothing, it is just my family,” her expression somber now. “Who you think so much of, would not agree with you. At least not right now,” she waves away the question as unimportant.
“If you say so,” Greg figured to was time to stops this line of questioning.
The last thing he wanted was to be Liz angry at him. She is too much fun and so far she may very well have saved his life.
“I guess I should work up an outline for the independent studies students?” he thinks out loud.
“That can wait till tomorrow night,” she smiled at Greg. This time she is the hungry one. She leans in and kissed him. “And can we please move this along?” she asked.
“Of course, I just didn’t figure,” he takes another kiss, “you were a first date kind of girl.”
“Please we don’t have time to wait for the second date,” she laughed.
“Well, in that case…” he neatly lifts her up and carries her to the waiting bedroom.

The next day came for Greg and Liz far too soon. But as far as Liz was concerned, she was not going to let some Curse kill the one man she had the hots for.
They spent most of the day putting together the independent studies for the different parts of the artifacts and the curse. And how to present it to the Dean on Monday. Who if he was in his right mind would not want to start an independent studies class in the middle of the term. But Liz was confident that she could convince the dean.
Dinner was a little more serious affair, but they were still able to end the night the same way they ended it on Friday.
